Lea Salonga, Tamlyn Tomita to Host East West Players’ Visionary Awards Benefit

Lea Salonga and Tamlyn Tomita will host the East West Players’ 44th Anniversary Visionary Award Dinner & Silent Auction, to be held on April 19 at the Hilton Universal City.

The event will feature performances by Joan Almedilla, Jennifer Paz, Jenni Selma, and Ethan Le Phong, and will raise funds for the theater’s educational and artistic programs.
Awards will be presented to Wenda Fong, Vice President of Alternative Programming for FOX and Mike Shinoda, visual artist and musician for two-time Grammy Award-winning rock band Linkin Park.

Salonga won a Tony Award for her performance in Miss Saigon. She has been heard as the lead in several Disney movies, including Mulan and Aladdin, and recently concluded a run of her New York cabaret debut at the Café Carlyle.

Tomita is perhaps best known form her work on such television shows as 24, Heroes, General Hospital, CSI Miami, and Eureka, and such movies as The Joy Luck Club and The Day After Tomorrow.
