Alicia Keys, Don Scardino, Glenn Weiss Among DGA Award Nominees for Television

The Directors Guild of America’s nominees for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Television and Commercials have been announced. The awards will be presented at the Grand Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland in Los Angeles on January 28. As previously reported, Broadway veteran and television star Kelsey Grammer will host the ceremony.

Among the nominees is Alicia Keys, who is currently producing the Broadway production of Stick Fly. She, along with Demi Moore, Jennifer Aniston, Penelope Spheeris, and Patty Jenkins, has been nominated in the Movies for Television and Mini-Series for her work on Lifetime’s Five.

Also among the nominees is Don Scardino, who has been nominated in the Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Comedy Series, for his direction of the “Double-Edged Sword” episode of NBC’s 30 Rock.

In addition, Glenn Wiess has been tapped in the Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Musical Variety category for his work on the 65th Annual Tony Awards and Casey Childs has received a nomination in the Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Daytime Serials category for his work on ABC’s All My Children, “Episode #10712.”
