Crazy for You to Transfer to West End’s Novello Theatre

Crazy for You, currently playing at The Open Air Theatre, Regent’s Park, will transfer to the West End’s Novello Theatre, opening October 8, according to a report on Whatsonstage.com. Timothy Sheader has directed the production, which has dance arrangements, musical supervision and musical direction by Gareth Valentine.


With music and lyrics by George and Ira Gershwin, and a book by Ken Ludwig, the show centers on what happens when a Manhattan playboy finds himself in the rural west. Among the songs in the show are “I Got Rhythm,” “Someone To Watch Over Me,” “Embraceable You,” and “Nice Work If You Can Get It.”


The company stars Sean Palmer as Bobby Child, Clare Foster as Polly Baker, Kim Medcalf as Irene Roth, Harriet Thorpe as the Mother and Patricia, Michael McKell as Lank, and David Burt as Bela Zangler.

Also featured are Rachel Stanley (Tess), Alexis Owen Hobbs (Patsy), Samuel Holmes (Eugene), Peter Martin (Everett), Lucy Anderson, Jessica Buckby, Cara Elston, Charlene Ford, Jo Goodwin, Amy Griffiths (Follies Girls), Harry Morrison, James O’Connell, Carl Sanderson, Phil Snowden, Stephen Whitson (Cowboys), Richard Jones, Josh Lacey and Jo Morris (Swings).

The production team includes choreographer Stephen Mear, set and costume designer Peter McKintosh, lighting designer Tim Mitchell, orchestrator Chris Egan, and sound designer Mike Walker.
