Henry Goodman will play Henry Kissinger opposite Harry Shearer’s Richard M. Nixon in Nixon’s The One, a new comedy drama for U.K. Sky Arts. Written by Shearer and Stanley Kutler, the 30-minute film is scheduled to air in 2012.
The show will be drawn from more than 2,000 hours of audio tapes secretly recorded by Nixon and made public since the eighties by the National Archives.
Goodman won Olivier Awards for performances in The Merchant of Venice and Assassins. Among his many credits are Yes, Prime Minister, Fiddler on the Roof, >o?The Exonerated, The Birthday Party, The Hypochondriac and Duet for One.
