David Hare has won the PEN/Pinter Prize, according to a report in The Guardian.
The prize, created two years ago to celebrate the late playwright Harold Pinter, is given to a British writer of outstanding literary merit.
Among Hare’s many plays are Amy’s View, The Vertical Hour, The Secret Rapture, The Absence of War, The Blue Room, Stuff Happens, and Plenty. He was knighted in 1998.
