David Schwimmer to Direct Dry Ice at Bush Theatre

Stage and television star David Schwimmer will direct the Bush Theatre’s production of Sabrina Mahfouz’s Dry Ice, according to WhatsOnStage.com. The work will be presented in a double bill of monologues along with Caroline Horton’s You’re Not Like the Other Girls Chrissy, and run May 8-11.

The Bush Theatre’s season — the first under new artistic director Madani Younis — will also include Lee Mattinson’s Chalet Lines (April 6-May 5), directed by Younis; Amir Nizar Zuabi’s The Beloved (May 21-June 9), directed by the playwright and featuring Jonthan Bukshapen, Makram Khoury, Rami Heuberger, Rivkle Noiman, Taher Najib, Sivan Sason and Samaa Wakeem; Gbolahan Obisesan’s Mad About the Boy (May 28-June 2), directed by Ria Parry and designed by James Button; and writer/director Dominic Savage’s Fear (June 18-July 14).

Schwimmer is best known for his portrayal of Ross on television’s Friends. As an actor, he has appeared on Broadway in The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial. His theater directing credits include the Off-Broadway production of Stephen Belber’s Fault Lines and the Lookingglass Theatre Company’s Trust, which he co-wrote with Andy Bellin. Schwimmer also directed a film version of the piece.
