Sandra Church, Gypsy Rose Lee, Jule Styne, Margaret Whiting, et al. Featured on Sepia Records’ Spring Releases

Sepia Records has announced its lineup of March releases.

The 24-track Gypsy Meets Gypsy will bring two LP recordings to one CD. The first half of the disc will be comprised of the numbers from Sandra Church’s Let Me Entertain You album, which was released to capitalize on Church’s success in playing Gypsy Rose Lee in the original cast of Gypsy. The second half of the disc will feature the songs heard on Lee’s own recording That’s Me All Over. The disc will include one bonus track, which features Lee in conversation with Jule Styne, the composer of Gypsy.

Sepia Records will also release the 1960 original London cast recording of Cole Porter’s Aladdin, which stars Bob Monkhouse and Doretta Morrow, and features numbers that interpolated from other Porter shows, including “There Must Be Someone for Me,” “Cherry Pies Ought to be You,” “I Am Loved,” and “Ridin’ High.” The disc will also feature 10 tracks from a studio recording of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, starring Denis Quilley and Elizabeth Larner.

Sepia’s other releases for the spring will include Margaret Whiting’s Great Hits, which couples two LPs she made in 1959, and a two-disc set 75 Glenn Miller Masterpieces.
