(© Joseph Marzullo/Retna) | Principal casting has been announced for Sean Mathias' production of Samuel Beckett's 1955 classic Waiting for Godot, at the West End's Theatre Royal Haymarket, April 30-June 28. The production is designed by Stephen Brimson Lewis, with lighting by Paul Pyant. Prior to the West End, the play will tour from March 5 to April 25, visiting Malvern, Milton Keynes, Brighton, Bath, Norwich, Edinburgh, and Newcastle.
Joining previously announced stars Ian McKellen as Estragon and Patrick Stewart as Vladimir will be Simon Callow as Pozzo and Ronald Pickup as Lucky.
Mathias' theater credits include Uncle Vanya, Dance of Death, Aladdin, Ring Round the Moon, Suddenly Last Summer, Talking Heads, Les Parents Terrible, Design for Living, and Bent.
