The Queen Elizabeth II New Year’s Honours List has been announced, according to BBC News.
Among the artists who have been recognized for their service to the arts are actors Sheila Hancock, David Suchet, and Harriet Walter.
Other notables on the list include Les Miserables lyricist Herbert Kretzmer; singer Annie Lennox; singer-songwriter Richard Thompson, costume designer Sandy Powell, and Lady Antonia Fraser, the noted author and widow of playwright Harld Pinter.
