Nicholas Woodeson to Star in West End Revival of An Inspector Calls

Casting has been announced for Stephen Daldry’s production of J.B. Priestley ‘s An Inspector Calls, which will begin performances at the Novello Theatre on September 22 and run until November 14. The production is designed by Ian MacNeil, with lighting by Rick Fisher and music by Stephen Warbeck. No casting has been announced.

The show will feature Nicholas Woodeson, David Roper, Sandra Duncan, Marianne Oldham, Robin Whiting, Timothy Watson, and Diana Payne Myers.

Daldry first mounted his neo-expressionistic reworking of Priestley’s classic 1946 thriller at the National Theatre, and it has since been seen on the West End in numerous productions, on Broadway, and in tours. The production has clocked up over 4,000 performances worldwide to date and has won 19 major awards, including three Oliviers and four Tonys.

Daldry is currently represented on Broadway and the West End by Billy Elliot, for which he recently won the Drama Desk Award and is nominated for a Tony Award for Best Director of a Musical. He also recently directed David Hare’s twin monologues Berlin/Wall.
