Grinch to Play Holiday Engagement in Boston

By: Brian Scott Lipton · Jun 11, 2008  · Boston Metro

Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical will play the Citi Performing Arts Center Wang Theatre, November 26-December 28. The cast and creative team are yet to be announced.

The show is based on the beloved Dr. Seuss tale that was published in 1957. The musical has book and lyrics by Timothy Mason and music by Mel Marvin; it also includes the Albert Hague songs "You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch" and "Welcome Christmas" from the classic animated TV film based on the story.

The musical has been a long-time holiday favorite at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego, where it was originally directed by Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien, and a separate production, supervised by O'Brien, has played Broadway during the last two seasons.
