Danai Gurira, Leslie Kritzer, Brian Charles Rooney, et al. Set for Yale Rep’s 2009-2010 Season

Leslie Kritzer, Cristen Paige, and Brian Charles Rooney will be among the cast of POP! a new musical by Maggie-Kate Coleman and Anna K. Jacobs about artist Andy Warhol, which November 27-December 19, with an opening on December 3, according to The New York Times. Mark Brokaw will direct the production.

As previously announced, the Yale Rep season will begin with Evan Yionoulis’ production of Henrik Ibsen’s drama The Master Builder (September 18-October 10), to be followed by Liesl Tommy’s production of Danai Gurira’s Eclipsed (October 23-November 14) which “unearths the wreckage of Liberia’s vicious civil war and celebrates women who navigate the most brutal of circumstances.”

In 2010, Public Theater artistic director Oskar Eustis will stage the world premiere of Rinne Groff’s Compulsion (February 5-27), a co-production with The Public and Berkeley Repertory Theatre. The season continues with Christopher Bayes’ production of Constance Congdon’s adaptation of Carlo Goldoni’s commedia dell’arte work, The Servant of Two Masters (March 12-April 3), and Robert Woodrfuff’s production of Bernard-Marie Koltès’ thriller Battle of Black and Dogs (April 16-May 8).
