Tim Supple’s multi-lingual adaptation of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is set to open as part of Chicago Shakespeare Theater’s World’s Stage Series, November 25-December 7, at the Courtyard Theater. Supple will direct.

As the culmination of a project that began in autumn 2004 when the British Council in India and Sri Lanka commissioned Supple, this re-interpretation combines sensuous choreography, contemporary scenic elements, and bold music with this comedic tale of romance and magic. The cast is a multi-cultural troupe of 23 performers from a diverse range of locations and backgrounds.

The creative team will include Zuleikha Chaudhari (lighting design), Devissaro (music direction), and Sumant Jayakrishnan (set/costume design).
