Mark Hollmann, composer and lyricist of Urinetown, is set to return to Theatre Building Chicago (TBC) as part of their Meet The Artist series on Monday, March 23 at 7:00 pm.
Hollmann, who studied at TBC’s Musical Theatre Writer’s Workshop, will speak about his journey as a musical theater writer, and the role that the TBC Workshop played in helping him develop in his career. He will also talk about his current projects, Yeast Nation: The Triumph of Life and The Girl, the Grouch, and the Goat.
Hollmann’s work on Urinetown garnered him a Tony Award for Best Original Score in 2002, and Drama Desk Award nominations for Outstanding Lyrics and Outstanding Music in 2001.
