Roberts, who plays the role of Oscar Wolfe in the George S. Kaufman and Edna Ferber comedy, became ill during Sunday's matinee performance, resulting in the performance's cancellation. He was taken to St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center. Subsequently, his daughter, Nicole Roberts, reported that he had had a minor seizure.
During Roberts's absence, his understudy, Anthony Newfield, played the role of Oscar. The play also stars Rosemary Harris, Jan Maxwell, John Glover, Ana Gasteyer, Reg Rogers, and Larry Pine.
