John Glover is perhaps best known as Lex Luthor's devious father in the series Smallville. He's been nominated for Emmy Awards five times, beginning with the landmark 1985 TV film An Early Frost. His Broadway credits include Waiting for Godot, The Drowsy Chaperone, Tartuffe, and Love! Valour! Compassion! for which he won the Tony for Best Featured Actor in 1995. Glover's Broadway debut was a 1972 revival of The Great God Brown. Off-Broadway roles include The Marriage of Bette and Boo, The Paris Letter, Sorrows and Rejoicings, Give Me Your Answer, Do!, and Oblivion Postponed. Glover has appeared in the films Payback, Batman and Robin, Love! Valour! Compassion!, Gremlins 2, Scrooged, Masquerade, The Chocolate War, Rocket Gibraltar, 52 Pick Up, White Nights, The Incredible Shrinking Women, Julia, and Annie Hall.
