Tony Award nominee Kerry Butler will take over the role of Sherrie and Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum Tom Lenk will play Wesley in the Tony-nominated Broadway production of Rock of Ages, at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, for a six-month engagement beginning September 18. This marks a change from the previously announced start dates for the two actors of September 21 and 14, respectively. Their roles are currently being played by Savannah Wise and Wesley Taylor, both of whom will play their final performance in the show on September 13.

Written by Chris D'Arienzo and directed by Kristin Hanggi, the musical focuses on a young rocker hungry for his big break and a small town girl who meet in 1987 at a legendary Hollywood club facing its imminent demise. The score includes the hit songs of iconic rockers Journey, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Foreigner, Pat Benatar, Whitesnake, and many more.

The show also stars Constantine Maroulis, James Carpinello, Mitchell Jarvis, Lauren Molina, Michelle Mais, Don Stephenson, Adam Dannheisser, Ericka Hunter, Jeremy Jordan, Michael Minarik, Angel Reed, Bahiyah Sayyed-Gaines, Becca Tobin, Katherine Tokarz, Andre Ward, Tad Wilson, and Jeremy Woodard.

Butler received a 2008 Tony Award nomination for Xanadu, with other Broadway credits including Little Shop of Horrors, Hairspray, Beauty and the Beast, Les Miserables, and Blood Brothers. She recently appeared in the pre-Broadway staging of Catch Me If You Can at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre. Butler will play six performances a week in Rock of Ages, with an understudy covering the role during both performances on Sundays.

Lenk originated the role of Franz in the Los Angeles and Las Vegas productions of Rock of Ages. His other theater credits include The Book of Liz, Ann E. Wrecksick, There's Something Living in the House that Jack Built, and The Pajama Game. His film and TV credits also include Six Feet Under, House, Transformers, and Date Movie.
