A native of Brooklyn, New York, Kerry Butler made her Broadway debut in the West End transfer, Blood Brothers. Her other Broadway appearances include Beauty and the Beast, the original cast of Hairspray, the Broadway debut of Little Shop of Horrors (Audrey), and Xanadu for which she was nominated for a Tony award for her portrayal of Kira/Clio. Notable Off Broadway shows include Bat Boy the Musical and Miracle Brothers. Her multiple television appearances include Lipstick Jungle, One Life to Live, and 30 Rock.
