Sasha Allen, who plays Dionne in the Broadway revival of Hair at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, will perform at the reopening of the Statue of Liberty Crown on Liberty Island, on July 4. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will begin at 9:00 a.m., with the performance taking place at 9:40 a.m.

Allen will sing the song "Huddled Masses" from the upcoming new musical Liberty: A New Musical of Monumental Proportions, with The City Lights Youth Theatre also singing songs from the musical at 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Liberty features a book and lyrics by Dana Leslie Goldstein and music by Jonathan Goldstein, and is aiming to open in 2010. A full concert presentation of the musical will take place on Tuesday, September 29, at The Acorn Theatre at 8 p.m.
