The Broadway revival of Hair opened to critical acclaim last night at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. Here's co-author James Rado and director Diane Paulus (both festively dressed for the occasion) with the landmark musical's composer Galt MacDermot.

The production stars the wonderfully talented Gavin Creel as Claude and Will Swenson as Berger.

Sasha Allen, who plays Dionne, opens the show with the rousing anthem, "Aquarius."

Here are cast members Kacie Sheik (Jeannie), Caissie Levy (Sheila), and Allison Case (Crissy).

Annie Golden played Jeannie in the 1979 movie version of Hair, and the role of Mother in the 1977 Broadway revival.

Melba Moore played Dionne in the original Broadway cast.

Two-time Tony nominee Martha Plimpton is the daughter of original cast member Shelley Plimpton and Tony nominee Keith Carradine, who was a replacement cast member in Hair's original Broadway run.

Four-time Tony winner Audra McDonald, who co-starred with Swenson in 110 in the Shade, will perform at the Roundabout's spring gala at Roseland Ballroom on April 6.

Tony winner Idina Menzel and Private Practice star Taye Diggs -- who met while starring in Rent -- are expecting their first child.

Here's composer Frank Wildhorn, his former onstage leading lady (and ex-wife) Linda Eder, and the irrepressible Rosie O'Donnell.

Film actor Joey Kern joined his girlfriend Ginnifer Goodwin of HBO's Big Love, Megan Lawrence, who portrays Mother in the Hair revival, and her husband, Kevin Kern (Joey's brother), who is currently appearing as Fiyero in Broadway's Wicked.

Tony winner John Gallagher, Jr. was a welcome guest on opening night.

Today Show co-hosts, Hota Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford, were on hand for the festivities.

Doonesbury cartoonist Garry Trudeau attended with his wife, broadcasting legend Jane Pauley.

Finally, here are Tony winners Tommy Tune, who is touring his retrospective show Steps in Time around the country, and Harvey Fierstein, who will host this year's Drama Desk Awards on May 17.
