The Broadway production of Hair will begin to digitally record the communal dance party finale, in which audience members are invited to join the cast onstage at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, beginning with tonight’s show, on February 2.

The video footage will be posted on the musical’s official website at www.HairBroadway.com. Audience members will be able to find and tag themselves, and share the video via e-mail or social networking outlets like Facebook and Twitter. Past videos will be archived and remain on the website.

The new Broadway production of Hair, directed by Diane Paulus and choreographed by Karole Armitage, won Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle Awards for revival of a musical. The musical features a book and lyrics by Gerome Ragni and James Rado and music by Galt MacDermot. Ghostlight Records’ new Grammy-nominated Broadway Cast recording was recently released as a limited edition re-mastered vinyl LP.
