In Rehearsals With Waitress, Starring Jessie Mueller at the A.R.T.

The world-premiere cast sings a number from Grammy winner Sara Bareilles’ brand-new score.

The American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts is just days away from the first preview of the new Sara Bareilles musical Waitress, starring Tony Award winner Jessie Mueller (Beautiful — The Carole King Musical). Mueller stars as waitress and expert pie maker Jenna, who sees a baking contest as her chance to escape her small town and loveless marriage.

Tony winner Diane Paulus directs the world-premiere musical (based on the motion picture written by Adrienne Shelly), with a book by Jessie Nelson, and choreography by Chase Brock. Take a look at some behind-the-scenes footage of rehearsals, plus a sample of its Grammy-winning composer's original score.

Waitress runs at the A.R.T. from August 2-September 27.
