Tony nominee Denny Dillon has joined the cast of Berkshire Theatre Festival's production of Neil Simon's The Prisoner of Second Avenue, replacing the previously announced Cynthia Darlow. Warner Shook directs the production, which will run July 21-August 8.

The play tells the story of Mel and Edna Edison, a middle-aged couple living in New York, who find their luck is quickly deteriorating during a terrible heat wave and a garbage strike. The cast also features Veanne Cox (Edna), Stephen DeRosa (Mel), Julian Gamble (Harry), Jeanne Paulsen (Jessie), and Alice Playten (Pearl). The design team includes Scott Bradley (set), Laurie Churba (costumes), Mary Louise Geiger (lighting), and Scott Killian (sound).

Dillon received a Tony nomination for My One And Only, and other Broadway credits include Gypsy, The Skin of Our Teeth, Harold and Maude, and Enchanted April. She was last seen at BTF in the musical Say Yes!
