Bethany Anne Lind, Lonny Price Among Suzi Award Nominees

The Suzi Bass Awards, Inc. have announced the nominees for the 2011-2012 Atlanta professional theatrical season. Winners will be announced at the 8th Annual Suzi Awards Ceremony on November 5 at the Porter Sanford Performing Arts Center.

Nominated productions include Alliance Theatre‘s Into the Woods for Outstanding costume, lighting, sound, and set design and Ghost Brothers of Darkland County for lighting, sound, and set design as well as Ain’t Misbehavin‘, Gypsy, and Thoroughly Modern Millie at Atlanta Lyric Theatre, all of which were nominated for Outstanding Production of a Musical.

Other nominees in the musical categories include Courtney Patterson, Kylie Brown, and Laura Floyd for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Musical and Clint Thornton, Michael Stiggers, and Stephen Mitchell for Oustanding Lead Actress in a Musical.

Plays nominated for Outstanding Production of a Play are Broke at Alliance Theatre, I Just Stopped By to See the Man at Alliance Theatre, Red at Theatrical Outfit, Shipwrecked: An Entertainment at Serenbe Playhouse, and Tree at Horizon Theatre.

Additional nominees include Lonny Price and Josh Rhodes for direction and choreography of the world premiere of Hunter Foster and Rick Crom’s musical Clyde ‘n Bonnie: A Folktale at Aurora Theatre and Bethany Anne Lind, who received two acting nominations for her supporting work in Kenny Leon’s True Colors Theatre Company’s World Premiere of Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?.
