Betsy Morgan and Nicholas Rodriguez Star in Arena Stage's Carousel

The Rodgers and Hammerstein musical will be helmed by Arena artistic director Molly Smith.

Arena Stage's upcoming production of the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Carousel has released footage from rehearsal. The musical will run from October 28-December 24 with Betsy Morgan (First Daughter Suite) and Nicholas Rodriguez (Arena's My Fair Lady) costarring as Julie Jordan and Billy Bigelow.

The cast will also feature E. Faye Butler (Arena's Pullman Porter Blues) as Mrs. Mullin, Ann Arvia (Arena's Fiddler on the Roof) as Nettie Fowler, Kate Rockwell (Rock of Ages) as Carrie Pipperidge, Kurt Boehm (Arena's Born for This) as Enoch Snow, Kyle Schliefer (Arena's Oliver!) as Jigger Craigin, Skye Mattox (West Side Story) as Louise Bigelow, Jacob Beasley as Enoch Snow Jr., Rayanne Gonzales as Mrs. Bascombe, Michael Graceffa as Carnival Boy, Thomas Adrian Simpson as David Bascombe, and Stephawn Stephens as Captain. In the roles of the Starkeeper and Heavenly Friend will be two young local actors — 13-year-old Nicole Wildy of Howard County, Maryland and 15-year-old Joshua Otten of Fauquier County, Virginia.

Helmed by Arena artistic director Molly Smith, the creative team will include music director Sportelli, set designer Todd Rosenthal, choreographer Esse, fight choreographer David Leong, lighting designer Ilona Somogyi, sound designers Joshua Horvath and Ray Nardelli, wig designer Anne Nesmith, dialect coach Lynn Watson, associate and text director Anita Maynard-Losh, associate music director William Yanesh, assistant choreographer Tony Neidenbach, stage manager Susan R. White, assistant stage manager Trevor Riley, and production assistant Elle Bolin.
