About the Show

Stepping Out
by Richard Harris

Stepping Out is a warm, witty, and uplifting comedy about a group of unlikely dancers who gather each week for a tap class in a church hall in North London. Led by their endlessly patient instructor Mavis, the class is made up of eight mismatched women—and one brave man—each carrying their own insecurities, struggles, and hopes. What begins as a chaotic collection of missteps, missed rhythms, and clashing personalities gradually turns into something much more meaningful as the group learns to trust one another, find confidence, and discover the joy of dancing together.

As friendships deepen and the class prepares for a public performance, these ordinary people discover extraordinary courage within themselves. Filled with humor, heart, and plenty of toe-tapping moments, Stepping Out celebrates the power of community, perseverance, and believing in yourself—even when you feel completely out of step.
