SECONDS plunges audiences into a surreal, high-energy meditation on suspension of disbelief and the spectacle of staged death— seen through the wild lenses of comedy, horror, ritual, and dance. Drawing from the words of iconic writers like Tennessee Williams, Can Xue, Theresa Hak Kyung Cha, and Gertrude Stein, the performance fuses live narration, masked transformations, choral movement, and a chorus of borrowed texts to create a hypnotic world where identity, memory, and mortality intertwine. 

Created by The Million Underscores —a Brooklyn experimental theater company acclaimed for their visually arresting, physically charged works— SECONDS is the latest from Colombian director Nicolás Noreña, whose collaborative practice has graced venues from MoMA to The Exponential Festival. Step into a space-bending ritual where the theater becomes both playground and threshold, inviting audiences to question how we see, remember, and transcend ourselves—in an act of collective unbecoming.
