New York City
Oklahoma! is the first musical play written by the team of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. Set in Oklahoma Territory outside the town of Claremore in 1906, Oklahoma! features two tangled triangles of characters – Laurey, a pretty young girl, and the two men that love her, the clean-cut Curly and the more sinister Jud Fry; and the more light-hearted trio of Ado Annie and her two suitors, Will Parker, and a peddler, Ali Hakim. Troy Arnold Fisher, director and music director, has brought back many of the strong talents from this summer’s exceptional cast of Children of Eden, including Gabriella Guilfoil staring as Laurey and Bailey Boyd as Ado Annie. Sean Stinnett, a new face to the Playhouse, beautifully crooned his way into the lead role of Curly McLain. Situated on technical director Bruce Haasl’s stunning set, the Oklahoma territory locale is cemented in western wagon wheels, a country windmill and an actual hay rake on stage!
