Uncle Vanya

Uncle Vanya is Anton Chekhov’s story of a family torn apart by disillusionment and betrayal. Ivan Petrovich (Vanya) and his family have been supporting the studies of the Professor, his brother in law, for years. As his health begins to deteriorate, the Professor decides to sell the house that they have all habited for generations in order to move to a more convenient locale in the city. This decision leaves Vanya and his loved ones without a home. Already exhausted by unrequited love and alcoholism, the aging man must finally come face to face with the truths of his life and the needs of his family.
