The Magical Pinata

Imagination Stage’s Deaf Access Company presents The Magical Pinata, featuring book and lyrics by Karen Zacarias, and music by Deborah Wicks LaPuma.

Cucha thinks her birthday is ruined when she receives an old clay pot as a gift. But the fun begins when she tries to give it back and instead gets lost in a mysterious Mexican jungle. There she meets an array of characters who teach her the importance of the pot – a piqata – which contains her country’s heritage. Cucha learns the secret of sharing and has her best birthday ever. The show, directed by Deaf Access Co-Director, Lisa Agogliati, features a company of 11 deaf, hearing, hard-of-hearing and KODA (Kids of Deaf Adults) teens, one Deaf Access Company alumna and one elementary school student.
