About This Show
Round House Cabarets celebrate the Broadway Musical. This series includes:
Stage to Screen to Stage (February 10 & 11 at 7:30pm): an event celebrating movies made from musicals (Cabaret, Chorus Line, Annie) and musicals made from movies (Footloose, Big, The Producers, The Full Monty.)
New Today – Golden Tomorrow (February 24 & 25 at 7:30pm): a discussion about which current hits might still be popular fifty years from now. Possibilities include Urinetown, Bat Boy, The Producers, and Parade.
Viva La Rock (April 14 & 15 at 7:30pm): a look at rock musicals of the 70s (Hair, Tommy, Jesus Christ Superstar) and those of today (Rent, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and the revival of The Rocky Horror Show.)
Lift Every Voice (April 21 & 22 at 7:30pm): an exploration of black musical theatre from Harlem to Broadway that includes everything from Porgy and Bess to Sophisticated Ladies to Ragtime to The Wiz.
