About the Show

Theater of the First Amendment presents Open the Door, Virginia, created, directed and choreographed by Dianne McIntyre, with original music by Olu Dara. This world premiere portrays real-life stories of African American students from Virginia’s Prince Edward County whose challenge to school segregation played a key role in the historic Brown v. Board of Education decision of 1954.

Post-performance discussions will take place after the show every Friday.

The Sunday, Feb. 6 performance is at 2 pm.
