In this production, the energetic cast encourages children and their families to see and hear the theatre in a whole new way. It is performed in Deaf Access’ seminal style: seamlessly blending the spoken and the signed word in a beautifully choreographed theatrical presentation that is accessible to both deaf and hearing audiences.

With its Irish folklore traditions of magic, quests, and fantastical characters, Journey to the World’s Edge tells an adventurous tale of bravery and self-acceptance. Audiences will see and hear the story of Brigid’s journey from the home she has never left into a world of magic and mystery, where she hopes to find the Well at the World’s Edge. There she plans to find the wise Sage, who will transform her misshapen foot, making her just like everyone else. Guided by the gentle Sea Mither, Brigid is sent on a quest and makes a surprising choice when she finally reaches the Sage.
