In a career spanning five decades, STC Affiliated Artist Stacy Keach has been versatile enough to tackle the most challenging Shakespearean roles. Keach was recently seen on the STC stage as the title role in the Company's 2009 hit production of King Lear and also appeared in STC's Macbeth and Richard III. Most recently Keach was on Broadway in Other Desert Cities with Stockard Channing and Judith Light, for which he received an Outer Critics Circle Award nomination. He has received a Best Actor Golden Globe, been nominated for Emmy and Tony awards, and won three Obie Awards, three Vernon Rice awards, two Helen Hayes Awards and the prestigious Millennium Recognition Award for his outstanding contribution to the classical theatre. This season marks the 25th anniversary of the Shakespeare Theatre Company, and Michael Kahn's 25 years as Artistic Director. As part of our anniversary celebration, we're inviting some of the world's most renowned classical actors to talk about their craft and how the art of classical theatre has contributed to their career. Think "Inside the Actor's Studio" at our very own Sidney Harman Hall.
