Based on the major motion picture franchise of the same name, Bring It On the Musical follows would-be cheer captain Campbell as she is suspiciously re-districted from preppy Truman High to the hard-knock Jackson High. Against the odds, Campbell befriends the head of Jackson’s dance crew, Danielle. Together, they form a powerhouse cheerleading squad to stand toe-to-toe with Campbell’s old team while they learn about the complexities of friendship, jealousy, betrayal, and forgiveness.
Bring It On the Musical features a book by Jeff Whitty (Avenue Q), music by Lin-Manuel Miranda (In The Heights) and Tom Kitt (Next to Normal), and lyrics by Amanda Green (High Fidelity). With the Broadway pedigree of its creators, there’s no wonder that Bring It On the Musical was nominated for a Best Musical TONY Award in 2013.
