About the Show

Written by Maxwell Anderson in 1947, Anne of the Thousand Days is described by Dramatists Play Service as a “beautiful presentation of the story of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn played against the well-known historical background of the Court of Henry.” The play was later adapted into an Academy Award-winning film in 1969, directed by Charles Jarrot and starring Richard Burton as Henry VIII and Genevieve Bujold as Anne Boleyn.
