The Kennedy Center presents A Salute to the 1940s Broadway Musical, with performances by Barbara Cook, John McDermott, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Richard Stoltzman, Elaine Stritch and Frederica von Stade
with Marvin Hamlisch and the NSO Pops. Julie Andrews is Honorary Chair, with
James V. Kimsey and Joseph E. Robert, Jr. as Co-Chairs.

This star-studded tribute to the golden age of American musical theater commemorates the Kennedy Center’s festival, A New America: the 1940s and the Arts, presented by The Catherine B. Reynolds Foundation Series for Artistic Excellence.

The black-tie evening begins with a reception on the South Plaza at 5 p.m. followed by an elegant dinner on the Roof Terrace level at 6 p.m. The Gala performance begins at 8:30 p.m. in the Concert Hall. The evening concludes with ‘Til Midnight, a cocktails and dancing party, in the Roof Terrace Restaurant with the music of Big Ray and the Kool Kats.
