Slanguage

Slanguage, presented by the five-person performance group Universes, depicts the urban landscape of New York in rap, gospel, riffs, bluesy laments, and other musical forms to forge a dynamic rhythm. Among other things, the performance deals with the great Puerto Rican migration, the politics of dislocation, the problems of assimilation, being richer or poorer, and locations from neighborhoods to classrooms.
