About the Show
Freely adapted from a 19th Century farce by Johann Nestroy, the play is a madcap chase which begins when two naughty grocer’s assistants-the moment their master goes off on a binge with a new mistress-escape to Vienna on a spree. The classic farce structure of the play is endlessly enriched with playwright Tom Stoppard’s dazzling signature wordplay.
