About the Show

This holiday season Stages Repertory Theatre welcomes a different kind of baby: Baby: A Musical in an original production directed by Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) Associate Artistic Director Roy Hamlin that combines elements from the original script and incorporates adaptations from subsequent productions, creating a unique version. Written by Sybille Pearson with music by David Shire and lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr.

Baby tells the story of three couples confronting the same news: “You’re pregnant!” It’s exciting for thirty-somethings Pam and Nick; overwhelming for Danny and Lizzie, two unmarried college students; and downright shocking for Arlene and Alan, middle-aged parents of three grown daughters. Packed with laughter, warmth and insight, Baby moves beyond mood swings and labor pains in a celebration of life – and the challenges of creating it.

Additional performances: Tuesday, December 20 & 27 only 7:30 p.m.

No performances: December 24, December 25, and January 1.
