Fiddler on the Roof

Set in the rural village of Anatevka, Russia, in 1905, the story centers on Tevye, the father of five daughters, and his attempts to preserve his Jewish religious and cultural traditions as outside influences encroach upon the family’s lives. He must cope with the independent actions of his three oldest daughters who wish to marry for love, while also dealing with the political instability and anti-Semitism of czarist Russia.
