Garland Summer Musicals presents Cole Porter’s Can-Can, set in bright and colorful Gay Paris of 1893. It tells the tale of La Mome Pistache, the jaunty proprietress of the Bal du Paradis dance hall, where the magnificent can-can is performed and is the talk of the town. The high kicking, skirt tossing dance is scandalous for the times and a highly principled judge — Aristide Forestiere — is out to uphold the letter of the law and close the dance hall down. Songs include “I Love Paris,” “C’est Magnifique” and “It’s All Right With Me.”
