Fire, an original play
Written and Directed by Brandon Fuladi

February
6, 2026

Highlighting the lives of four teenagers as they navigate
the trials of modern life, with its often-monotonous rhythm and rigid societal
pressures, Fire challenges apathy in the face of climate change and the
notion of a powerless young person. Maya, the protagonist, is a typical
teenager who, through obstacles both ordinary and extraordinary, must grapple
with archaic narratives and an onslaught of online doomerism. The play
challenges the fear and catastrophe Maya is fed through her computer,
illuminating the idea of hope in the face of seemingly insurmountable
obstacles.

This performance is written, directed, and performed by
local students based on their own experiences and those of their peers.

All proceeds from the performance will benefit the Climate
Psychology Alliance, a national organization dedicated to supporting those
grappling with mental health challenges in the face of climate change using
climate cafes, research, and trained professionals.
