The Government Inspector

A.C.T. presents a new production of Nikolai Gogol’s The Government Inspector, directed by artistic director Carey Perloff.

The comedy, presented in a translation by Alistair Beaton, depicts a group of wildly corrupt bureaucrats in a remote provincial corner of Russia who scramble to whitewash their behavior when a government official is rumored to be arriving to inspect the town.
