At the La Jolla Playhouse: Summer Youth 2017 Theatre Program

About This Show

Each summer the Tony Award-winning La Jolla Playhouse offers a variation of one- to five-week acting and production experiences for grade school students. The curriculum is designed to prepare emerging theatre artists with a multitude of performing arts experiences wither they are auditioning for BFA college programs or are just yet discussing their love for performing. From our conservatory where eight hours a day, five days a week, students study acting, scene study, voice and speech, ensemble-devised performance, movement and yoga alongside some of the most exciting theatre professionals in the field to our workshops for younger students where expert teaching artists inspire and provide a fun-filled, nurturing place for young performers to reach for the stars. Or for our behind the scenes creators of tomorrow, our Tech Theatre class teaches on costumes, lighting, props, scenic design and painting sets.
