About the Show
In Lynn Nottage’s CLYDE'S, a truck stop sandwich shop becomes an unlikely site of survival, solidarity, and aspiration. Staffed by formerly incarcerated workers, the kitchen offers a fragile chance at redemption as its employees struggle against a demeaning boss and the weight of systems designed to keep them down. As they labor side by side, their shared obsession with crafting the perfect sandwich becomes a conduit for creativity, dignity, and hope. By turns sharp, funny, and deeply humane, CLYDE'S is a comedy about second chances, the value of work, and the stubborn belief that something better can still be made—by hand, together, even under impossible conditions.
