A Gay Masseur’s Guide to Happy Endings

About the Show

This August, writer-performer Austin Jennings Boykin (FX, HBO, AMAZON, CBS) debuts his bold and unforgettable solo show A Gay Masseur’s Guide to Happy Endings to The Red Room in Provincetown for two performances only: August 12 and 14 at 7 PM. Directed by Joe DeStefano, this darkly comedic and emotionally charged piece blends stand-up, storytelling, and theatrical vulnerability to deliver a raw and hilarious meditation on sex, shame, and the search for connection. Inspired by Boykin’s real-life experiences as a gay masseur in New York City, the show evolved from a loose collection of personal anecdotes into a tightly woven narrative exploring intimacy, identity, addiction, and the deeply human need to be seen. After showcasing excerpts at NYC's Chain Theatre and downtown comedy clubs, the piece received its first public reading at Bill Arning Exhibitions in Kinderhook, NY, where it was praised for its biting humor and unflinching honesty.
