Adapted from Moliere’s The Miser, Stinkin’ Rich relocates the farce to New York City in the Roaring 20s. On the eve of the Great Crash, the stingy, eccentric millionaire Harper falls in love with Maria, a Greenwich Village waitress who loves Harper’s son, the big-hearted carouser Clayton. Meanwhile, Harper’s daughter, the sharp-witted flapper Alice, must convince her father to let her marry a high-society heir posing as a servant. Henry Woronicz adapts and directs this world premiere.
