About the Show
I Think Not, a laugh-out-loud comedy about a middle-aged man losing control of his inner monologue, opens a two-night run at the Coop (home of Next in Line Comedy) on July 17th and July 31. Christy’s last solo show
Not Right Now had an 8-night run at the Philly Fringe festival, selling out the final weekend at Pig Iron Theatre. Award-winning playwright, filmmaker and former actor James Christy has a lot on his mind. To the outside world, he’s able to pass as a reasonably decent person. But he’s able to manage this only with vigilant oversight of his opinionated, judgmental and sometimes toxic inner monologue. With
I Think Not, he’s handed his inner monologue a microphone and given him center stage. This one-hour evening of comedy takes the audience headlong from topics as disparate as teen sex movies from the '80s, suburban lawn sign wars, and, maybe most risqué of all, a reading from Leviticus. This is a BYOB event.
