Written by David Lindsay-Abaire. 2007 Pulitzer Prize Winner for Drama for Rabbit Hole. Directed by John Bellomo. Claire has a rare form of amnesia that erases her memory whenever she goes to sleep. When Claire turns to the people around her to help piece together her fragmented life, they raise more questions than answers. Along the way she meets her perpetually stoned son, her mother who only speaks gibberish, and a limping, half-blind, half-deaf man who wants to save her. Ultimately her life is threatened by a dimwitted thug with a foul mouthed hand puppet while her husband arrives to save her with a kidnapped, claustrophobic police woman. This poignant and brutal comedy traces one woman’s attempt to regain her her memory while surrounded by a curio-cabinet of alarmingly bizarre characters.
